The Power of Non Formal Education – Training Course

The main aim of this training is to improve educational impact through a full non-formal educational (NFE) experience. The course focuses on broadening the perception of NFE in Europe, exploring its complementarity with formal education, affirming its political dimension as a tool for empowerment, and rethinking daily educational practices to align actions with values.

Participants will be immersed in the experiential learning cycle, moving through doing and feeling, reflecting, transferring and sharing. The course begins around six weeks before the physical meeting through the “NFE News”, which provides weekly materials and reflection prompts, as well as a private Facebook group to encourage interaction.

During the training, participants experience various NFE methods such as role plays, simulation games and experiential exercises. They reflect on the impact and limitations of these methods and explore how to transfer insights to their own realities when working with young people.

After the course, trainers will remain available for two months to support each participant’s action plan through online mentoring. The training team consists of Denis Morel, Jo Claeys and Simona Molari.

This course welcomes 35 participants from Erasmus+ Youth Programme countries and is recommended for youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, youth project managers and youth policy makers. The activity and venue are accessible for people with disabilities.

Accommodation and food are fully covered by the hosting National Agency. Travel reimbursement and participation fee depend on each participant’s National Agency.
